An Earthquake and Fire Drill will be held at our faculty on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
DRILL PLAN:
The drill will begin with an earthquake drill at the date and time specified for each unit, followed by evacuation
and fire extinguishing exercises.
At the date and time specified in the drill schedule for each unit, an audible warning (fire alarm, audible alert, etc.) will be sounded to announce that an earthquake has occurred in the building, and the drop-cover procedure will be performed.
Our academic staff in class will have students perform the same drill. Approximately 2 minutes after the drop-and-cover drill, everyone in the building will calmly evacuate, guided by the emergency
response teams (protection and rescue teams) to the emergency exits and
stairs, and gather at the designated assembly point in the unit.
A headcount will be taken at the assembly point to ensure that everyone has safely
reached the assembly point as a result of the evacuation. Once the evacuation is successfully
completed, a staff member will check whether everyone is safely present at the assembly point as a result of the evacuation. A headcount will be taken at the assembly point to check that everyone has been safely
evacuated and is present at the assembly point. After the evacuation has been successfully
completed, assuming that one staff member has been injured during the evacuation, the first aid
teams will provide initial emergency treatment and life support to the injured staff member. The personnel whose injury is planned according to the scenario will be pre-determined and informed by the unit.
In accordance with the drill scenario, assuming that a fire broke out due to sparks from an electrical
panel during the earthquake, our civil defense expert
will introduce the fire alarm and extinguishing systems and conduct practical fire
extinguishing training and information in the building garden, and the drill will be completed. The fire extinguishing
exercise will be completed by the extinguishing teams under the guidance of the civil defense expert trainer.
