COMMON MANDATORY FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) EXEMPTION EXAM

The Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM, in person at the Faculty or School where students are enrolled.
Students who have newly enrolled at our University and will take Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II courses for the first time may take the exam. This right can only be exercised once.
Students who have enrolled in the English Language Teaching Department of the Necatibey Faculty of Education for the first time cannot take the exam.
Students who have transferred horizontally or vertically and students currently enrolled in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades cannot take the exam.
Students from the Faculty of Theology who have successfully completed the Arabic preparatory class or who are exempt from the preparatory class can take the exam.
Students taking the exam must bring one of their official ID documents (ID card, driver's license, passport) with them.
The exam will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions and will last 50 minutes.
The results of the Exemption Exam will be sent to the Deans' Offices or Directors' Offices of the Faculties or Colleges where the students are enrolled; students can find out their results from their own faculty/college student affairs offices.
In accordance with Article 17/1 of Balıkesir University's Associate and Bachelor's Degree Education and Teaching Regulations, students must score at least 60 points (CC) or higher on the exam to be exempt from courses with the codes YDI 1101 and YDI 1201.
Students who score 60 or above on the exam will be exempted from the relevant course.
Every student who takes the exam is deemed to have accepted the procedures and principles of the exam.
The English Proficiency Exam for the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, will be held in classroom B204.
