The Silent Witnesses of the City: Mosques, Fountains, and Clock Towers
03 June 2026
As the Faculty of Architecture at Balıkesir University, we have once again presented our student project exhibition titled “Silent Witnesses of the City: Mosques, Fountains, and Clock Towers” to our visitors as part of the opening program of the 1st International Turkic World Student Symposium.
We sincerely thank our Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, for visiting our exhibition, closely examining our students' work, meeting with them in a warm atmosphere, and taking photos with them to commemorate the day. The sincere interaction our Rector established with our students, the value he placed on their efforts, and his approach that encourages academic production are extremely valuable to us.
This beautiful meeting was not just an exhibition visit; it was a meaningful reflection of the support given to our students' work, their sense of belonging to the university, and academic sincerity.
We congratulate all our students and Dr. Ayşegül Ağan for their efforts; and we continue to value the strong connection that architectural education establishes with the city, culture, and social memory.
