Water Management in the Context of Climate Change: Recycling and Nature Based Solutions
As part of the Science Applications in High Schools program, Dr. Figen Altıner, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Balıkesir University, met with students from Gülser Mehmet Bolluk Anatolian High School.
During the event, Dr. Altıner gave a presentation titled "Water Management in the Process of Climate Change: Recycling and Nature-Based Solutions." The presentation addressed the effects of climate change on water resources, increasing water stress, and the importance of sustainable water management in this process.
The event also aimed to increase students' environmental awareness by explaining current approaches such as rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling systems, and nature-based solutions through examples. The presentation, which was followed with great interest by the students, concluded interactively with a question-and-answer session.
It was emphasized that such events, conducted within the framework of Science Applications in High Schools, make significant contributions to developing young people's scientific thinking skills and instilling sustainability awareness at an early age.
